How Mentor retimed US-20 and cut the cost of delay by about $2.9 million a year
US-20 carries most of Mentor's retail economy, and its signal timing had fallen behind. When a controller upgrade made new timing possible, the City used Flow Labs' Luminus Plus and Optimus Gen2 to retime every signal on the corridor, then fine-tuned the plans over the following weeks.
Mainline control delay fell by 17% to 25% in all five time-of-day plans.
Delay on the corridor fell by more than 53,000 vehicle-hours a year, even as volumes grew.
The new timing avoids 146 tonnes of CO₂ a year.
